Last night when I got home from work, I turned on my computer, and went down stairs. Came back up, and my computer os off. I'm like :wtf:. So, I turn it on, it passes CMOS, then shuts off. I'm wondering if my CPU is overheating because I have that heat protection enabled... so I checked my flow indicator to see if water was flowing through OK. It seemed OK, but it was green, which can only mean algae and water is getting thicker. I should have put anti-freze in there.

I took off my waterblock which was scorching hot, even only being on for 2 - 3 seconds. I set it down to let it cool off for another 10 minutes... came back, still scorching. I went to sleep. :hs:

I'm hoping there's a kink in my tubing or something along those lines. I hope my CPU isn't damaged. :hs:

Didn't have time to fix it last night, when I come home I'll look into it. It is time to change the water and put thermal paste on anyway. Not sure if it's worth the work though... since I'm moving this weekend.

Some sort of antifreeze is a good idea to prevent corrosion and prevent algae growth. Red line water wetter is a decent product, that you could probably get locally at an auto parts store.

just hope that your heat protection actually did what it was supposed to and shut off the system BEFORE overheating :hsugh:

Before frying. :hs: Yeah, I'm at work right now... but I'll definatly check it out when I get home. I'm not sure if I should even bother though. I'm packing up and heading to my new place tomorrow.

My CPU is safe. There was some minor corrosion on my waterblock. I'm not sure why that's there, there are no leaks. I cleaned it up and reapplied arctic silver. I'm going to wait to flush the system tomorrow, since I'm moving tomorrow anyway.

This is fucked. :hsugh: My temps keep rising. I think I better shutdown for the night. :o

Ok, I flushed out my system anyway, and let it run through with anti freeze / water mixture to kill all the algae, then let it run through with clean water one more time. This water is sharp. :o Crystal clear. I'm monitoring my cpu temps right. So far, very good.

My temps have risen 6 degrees... Which is fine, as long is it doesn't raise anymore... and it hasn't in the last five minutes. So, I think I'm good now.

On an additional note, I think there are massive air bubbles in my resevrior / pump, because it's making an odd noise. :o

You can try gently laying the system on it's side to help move the air bubbles out of where they're stuck to where you're bleeding the system from. If you can, hook it up so the computer isn't running, just the pump.

when was the last time you cleaned out your waterlines/blocks before this time? I run 100% distilled water and nothing else, and I have never had a problem with growth or corrosion. However i change water every month or two.

I probably havn't changed it in close to 6 - 8 months. :hs: As far as I can remember...

I've just been too busy with work to have any time to maintain my PC. I had time this weekend, and it was perfect timing. Glad I cleaned.
