I have a Dell Latitude CPt400 C-Series Notebook i havent used in a while and i want to use to for my car but there is too much crap on it. I want to do a full restore on the system but dont have the Restore disk. Does any one know where i can get it? im sure i can get it from Dell but last time i bought a boot disk from them it was like $100. Does anyone know of a program i can use/download to erase EVERYTHING? any suggestions would be great. i basically want to erase THE ENTIRE hard drive.

Thanks in advance and i look forward to your advice. :bigthumb:

To erase the hard drive you can just boot off a floppy and type format c:

Unfortunately, that will leave you with nothing, and you'll have to install the OS, by yourself. IIRC, the dell restore disks do it all for you and put the drivers and dell included programs back for you too

Heres all the Dell drivers for the Latitude C400. (i didnt see a cpt 400). Just download the drivers, burn them to a cd, and you should be good to go
