computer formatting help

    ok so i posted this in the "offtopic" section but looks like iw ont get help there..

    so if anyone here knows why i get a "cpqarray.sys is corrupted" message when i try to install winxp, any info would be great

    oh yeah, i fdisk'ed and formatted c: already...
    i put in my winxp cd to install and get this message after the drivers load up

    might be an error on the cd. If you're getting this message during the install then the cd may be misreading a spot on the cd causing the error.

    and if its not the cd then it could be a bad sector on your hard drive.

    Quick relatively cheap solution: buy a 40GB hard drive (7200RMSs are pretty cheap) and make that your primary drive. Install windows on that and use the old drive as storage.
