I dont want that crap on my computer anymore so I uninstalled both progs. I cannot find limewire anywhere, but there is still an ares folder in my program files list. There are 2 files and I will describe them below. Is there a proper way to dispose of that? I basically do not want those programs to secretly scan my computer and allow people to dload music files etc off of my hard drive without me knowing and get in trouble for it. Am I worrying too much, or is that even possible with Ares Galaxy and Limewire?

1st file: says tcpip_patcher it is a "System File" and its 16kb

    2nd: tcpIpPatcherDLL.dll 1.0.1.0

I Think you're worrying too much. There's no harm in deleting those files.

If you ran the uninstall programs for them and there are still files/directories, you can just delete them.

Thanks guys, I didnt want to have to reformat my hard drive again. Would windows firewall tell me if files were being accessed from my computer anyway?

Considering the programs are removed, there shouldn't be a problem. You could go into the firewall exclusion list and make sure those programs are not listed or are not checked.
