MMA competition in a week!

    i was just informed that i got a bjj tournament in a week! i have just got off exams and have been drunk the entire previous week. On a even worse downside, during exams i did no fitness work at all!

    i did a 6k run today and did that in 25 mins but i wasn't pushing myself hard. i could probably have done it in 18-20 mins if i was pushing myself, but i have not been running for a while so i am not sure what i am capable of.

    any ideas for me beefing up before my tournament, i am right on the weight boundary, i am focusing on cardio and i dont want to beef up my muscles too much because that will push me over the edge of my weight cat. (under 67 kilo)

    ... just do some cardio and work a little on a game plan. i like to write down a few flows from various positions and a few combinations for standup (judo).

    my game plan will be this:

    go fucking crazy at the start, try a crash tackle, or if i get clinched up with him try and uchi mata

    once on the ground i wanna stay on top of the guy and keep pressuring him, but i gotta keep my posture up, cause thats how i lost my last competition!

    apart from that, try for side control and work from there!

    any suggestions?

    ill start of hard, but then once its on the ground and im on top of him, i am fairly confident i can conserve some more energy and tire the other guy out.

    white belt, been doing it for about 6 months. i do a bit of judo on the side so i am confident about the take down. Any suggestions? or improvements on the plan?

    Don't blow your load early. Make sure you work for points, not for subs.

    yeah alot of people dont understand thats how you win the grappeling tournaments with transition and control. Ill have side control enough to get points then get a knee on belly and then go back to side control and if the tournament allows ill get knee on belly again to rack up the points and if its available ill go for the mount.

    I come from a judo back round so holding a pin for 5 mins is no problem for me. If I get you in a kesagatame your day is over

    i've got a competition coming up in a week as well! grapplers inc, HOLLA! 155 white belt. i'm going to seoi nage someone's head into the ground, do a couple groin chops then step on his chest for the 1-2-3.

    werd, oh and getting a hard on is completely acceptable if your opponent is good looking, plus it's a good distraction to throw your opponnent off a bit
