I absolutely hate this feeling... going to be lay offs in the next week. Cutting half of the IT dept. I don't even want to work... :sadwavey:

I really know how you feel. Today at work my phone got cut off. Yeah, I don't think it's going well here at all.
I wish you the best of luck and hope you're the lucky half.

No layoffs, just a 25% paycut this year. Haven't yet decided what's worse :(

Christ, move to Dallas. I get paid $13.50US to do support and programming, and that sure as fuck beats $6.85/hr in Canadian money :hs:

I'm not so sure that you would WANT my job, though :(

What kind of programming do you handle?

I had a friend who worked both in desktop support for broadband connectivity AND webpage scripting. minor layout designs and such, nothing heavy making far less than what you are getting.

hey leb_crx I didnt know Ottawa had RoadRunner cable, did you substitute RR for Rogers for the sake of our American readers?

C#, C++, and .NET programming, specializing in development tools.

Although considering the fact that I'm accepting a job offer (I think :o ) I'll soon be making quite a bit more for doing only what I love (support & programming) instead of what I'm doing now (getting screwed :( ) :bigthumb:

Good luck... These are some tough times. Our company just let 10% go. I'm keeping my eyes out for any other oppertunities just in case things get ugly.
