I wouldn't mind putting $1000 into my guns next month but I'm not really sure where to put it.

    I have:

    Ruger 10/22
    Ruger MkII
    Glock 19
    M1 Garand
    Mossberg 500a

I would like to get out of the mossberg and into an 870, not sure what that's going to cost me. A couple steel lips mags and a loader for the 10/22 would be nice, and maybe a nicer barrel as well. For the Glock, I think one of those carbine setups for it would be fun, even if they're kind of expensive. And a couple of 33 round mags to go with.

And maybe a nice handful of ammo for each.

    That's 1000 easy.

You guys have any better ideas? I'm open to suggestions

It's not that I don't like ARs or anything, I just don't think it's the rifle for me. The Garand is much more up my alley. Armor piercing rounds, tracers, bayonet, easy/cheap to reload, it's got a punch like a retard at the Chuck E Cheese, that's what I like. I'm gonna just skip the AR and stick with the Garand.

    The 870 fo SHO.

I thought about an AK, but are there any American companies that manufacture 7.62x39? If there are... I like the AK. That would be fun.

I could go for a 1911 in 9mm just for fun if I could pick one up for cheap. Any suggestions?

I dunno about 9mm 1911's but you can pick up a springfield 1911 A1 for around 600 I believe. It's been awihle since I looked.

Springfield 1911s can be found in 9mm. Dunno about prices, but I think AB13 has one or two of them.

I like my Springfield, though mine is in .45...

I'd suggest an AK or an SKS and a bunch of ammo. Yes, there are US companies making 7.62X39 but for more $.

Tactical Innovations makes great mags for 10/22s.

There's no point in wasting money on other hi-caps. Use either the Ruger 10 rounders or the Tactical Innovations hi-caps.

Yep. I've probably wasted $100 on crap 10/22 mags. Most of them ended up breaking or misfeeding after a year or two. I'll gladly pay a few extra dollars to have adjustable, durable mags that you can open up and clean.

    -Dillon 550b
-gear to reload for all your guns and enough components to keep you busy.
-actually put some mileage on your guns and go from collector to shooter
    -profit

Cheap and 1911 9mm do not compute. I bought my stock Springer 9mm for around $900. I heart it lots. I won the Washington State IDPA Championship in ESP with this gun.

Just looked, they're $75 a pop. Are they THAT much better than the Steel Lips mags? Are there any quick loaders for them, or can you use the Steel Lips reloader with those mags?

....what. I bought some like a year ago maybe and they were less than $30 each.

  22. Get the composite ones for $45.

And yes, they really are that much better than the steel lips mags. The standard quickloaders should work too.

Oh. I'm talking about the composite ones, not the aluminum ones. It looks like they raised the prices on them though :hs: They used to be cheaper.

  24. Yeah, when I bought them they were like $35. I've seen so many people have problems with the steel lips mags, it's really money being thrown away.

I don't think a nice 1911 is in the cards for me. The Dillon 550b might be, though.

    break

Just read up on the Dillon press, that is a really good idea. I would shoot my Garand a LOT more if it wasn't 25 cents a trigger pull. Nice. Can I reload 9mm with it?
