DC comics was only showing TPB's...I always edit those out unless it's significant to a new release/launch/story. I have no idea what is going on here.

Oh, sorry! I'll leave those in from now on! Most are re-solicits, but truth-be-told, I have no idea which are and aren't. I'm glad I mentioned that, because otherwise I would continue to unintentionally screw you. I'll edit the trades back in tomorrow night.

because the first printing sold out, and because it has different covers

i.e. they want the people who didn't get it to buy it, and they want to the people who bought the first one to buy it again.

About a year ago, Marvel abolished their rule about never reprinting a comic to retain its worth and value. This encouraged retailers to over-purchase their comics. However, when looking at the incredible slew of reprints put out by DC and the correlative sales increases, Marvel had to re-evaluate their stance. In the 90's, people became enraged after a while at the incredible number of variants for many comics citing pure business reasons. However, nowadays, they are all released only for landmark series/issues and re-solicitations of various printings.

A main reason that the covers change on 2nd printings is the retain the value of each printing. If the covers were similar, people could try to sell then 2nd printing as the original, and then people would pay too much for the wrong product and such. A different covers satiate fans by adding a reason to buy a new printing and also differentiates them easily.

You know...I want a Powers torrent. Newsarama is showing a page a day, but that still takes forever, and the quality is low.

i flipped through the LCS guy's preview today...it looked funny.

i didn't buy it because he already had some spine bendage. then again, it's been there for a week.

i DID, however get elephantmen #3...it's at home...waiting ever so patiently for my very eyes.
