I'm looking for poor to good copies of Amazing Fantasy #15. I had a mint condition one that sold for 5K about 12 years ago. Now that same copy is selling for upwards of 30-50K depending on where you look. I've hit Ebay, but even crap copies hit 1K- any other good sites for Golden/Silver age comics?

:dunno: but I'd like to know as well.

Any particular reason #15 is so important?

with the movies out & so very popular right now you are not going to find one for less unless it is a beat to shit copy, & even then you will still pay way to much for it :hs:

Any site that actually caters to comic fans (a golden age/silver age site like you suggested) won't sell for less, if anything they will sell for more-everyone there will know how much they can get for the comic with Spidey's current popularity, & some smuck on ebay might not know.

Comic selling is all supply/demand, & the demand is much higher than supply on Spidey stuff right now.

I hear ya- just thought maybe there was something I'd overlooked. I did get some good stuff from Ebay in the last few weeks- about 700 dollars worth of silver age books for less than 100. My problem is, I have a hard time parting with them.

You are speaking with someone who owns thousands of comics :hs:

I'd assume this series' value is pretty high. How many Amazing Fantasy comics did they release?

They stopped after Spierman in #15. Before that, it was all horror/mystery stuff and once Spiderman caight on they abandoned that, in the main. It was also named "Amazing Adult Fantasy- the magazine that respects your intelligence" before #15. The issues are not terribly valuable- Ebay has them from time to time- I didn't really buy it for value, but for nostalgia.

You'll probably never find a copy for less than a thousand. Bad condition or not, its still one of the most sought after books around. But even at a thousand dollars it not a bad price for a big piece of american history, its worth it just to own it. In any event, ive found ebay is the best place to get silver age comics. I picked up about 20 tales to astonish and strange tales the other day for a bout a buck a book.

So it's one of those issues that never loses face value eh?
