    Is that you?

    1. is supper flat, his face has no texture or depth, it seems to have lose all detail.

most of the pictures seem super bright on the face, I am not a very good photog so i don't know how to give you too many tips, just something I noticed. Also he is really white, I don't think that is his natural flesh tone, I think it may be your flash distorting it, maybe try to fix that too :dunno:

/edit Do you have pics of your studio or set up?

    supper? :fawk:

he just woke up. had bags under his eyes, and was all splotchy. i just dumbed down the quality on his face some. probably too much.

i like the look of being really bright on their faces - especially for little kids. personal opinion.

it's just a 9' wide roll of paper, a background stand, and some lights in an unfinished basement. nothing really exciting.

Most are close enough that people won't notice the difference,

Work more on making sure your entire background is completely blown, not a bit shadowy/pink like on 1 and 3 especially,

3 could be cropped tighter, and I think he's a bit too close to the bg, there's a bit of splashback from the light on the front of his shirt especially

the exposure is good, but i feel like he's floating in nothingness. Some ppl like that I guess - but I'm not one of them.

I was going back & forth between editing a few in PS (deleting the background, and dodging around the kid), and others just using the brush in LR. the ones done in PS look mucho better than the ones done just in LR.

    i agree.

it's my neighbors grandson, and they saw some pics i took of another neighbors family on the white bg ... they loved it & asked if i could do the same. :dunno:

Personally I like them. #3 is the only one I don't really care for, probably because the background is darker than the other shots.

The one thing I may have done differently is to add a backlight or rim light and lower the height of the key so that there are no real shadows under his hat.

i thought the same thing after i started looking at the shots. i need to bring my laptop down next time & tether to it so i can see wtf i'm doing.

i'll clean up the backgrounds tonight in PS and repost them to see what you professionals think.
