MIL Combat crew: Your thoughts on the ACOG?

Being a Marine and trained with the Iron sights I really can't begin to care about the Acog even though I deployed with it. It's more "cool" than useful to me. I'd rather go iron sights anyday. I hear they are training coaches with Acogs and it might even be implemented in the ranges now.

    your thoughts?

I never engaged with my weapon but I was better on the range with it.

if you can't hit shit w/ an ACOG...then you shouldn't be shooting a weapon period.

:ugh: how the fuck could you prefer iron sights to an ACOG or Aimpoint

:dunno: I'm an expert marksman with iron sites... when deployed the acog would get knocked around a lot and lose its zero and sometimes actually come unscrewed and fall off. I'm just much more comfortable with irons. Acog actually did help looking at people and what they were doing though without using binos

    Tie it down...:ugh2:

And I had no problems with my ACOG and it got banged around quite alot. Would reconfim zero and have to only make minor or no adjustments at all.

You should stay on top of MARADMINs and MCOs. If your T/O weapon has any attachments on it at all you are now required to qualify with all of them on.
