Its a fairly older computer, but not that old. A dell 4100 to be exact. Anyhow, trying to use a device that connects via serial, a barcode scanner. There is only one serial on my computer, or atleast that this thing would fit into, so I assumed that was it. For some reason when I was installing the drivers/application that houses it it says that COM1 the port I believe to be my serial port is in use by another program? Anyone know what this could mean? Even when I unplugged it it said that, and seeing as there is nothing plugged into that port now, what program would be using it? THanks guys.
