    is this too much gun for a first gun?

    next year ill be 21 and im saving money for my first gun. i definatly want a revolver

    Pythons are great shooters, but probably expensive for a first gun. If you want to drop the money, it wouldn't be wasted though.

    You can use the less powerful, less costly .38 Special through a .357 Mag for practice ammo.

    I would get a S&W model .357, 19(blued), 66(stainless), 586 or 686. The Colt is pretty tempermental for a newbie. Plus Smiths are cheaper and more common with more accesories.
    You may want to try a police trade-in too.
