He means go with the one that you would save money on, not spend more.

In my mind, the additional coin for an LMT over an RRA isn't worth it. Both work great so why spend more needlessly?

For a range toy I agree, for all out quality self defense tool I think the LMT has a leg up on the RRA.

Who cares about the average Joe. It's about what will get you more ball washed on ARF.

As far as what shoots, and what is reliable that can vary from rifle to rifle.

There are a lot of RRAs, Stags, Bushmasters and others that are in the trunks of a lof of on-duty cruisers and in the hands of a lot of guys breaking into rooms, not to mention the DEA account that RRA is supplying.

I dont argue that there are differences, I do question a bit as to how important those differences really are and whether they will ever manifest themselves.

From what I have seen, everyone sackrides Colt's ridiculously high inspection rate because that's part of what they market. What people fail to realize is that RRA or any other AR manufacturer may have a product just as capable and that they do not do as heavy of an inspection because maybe, just maybe, they've designed and developed their manufacturing processes to make them needless. It's called taking non-value added work out of the process. However, Colt has obviously latched onto it as a marketing point and the target audience seems to have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

It's because Colt is the only company that is supplied with the TDP (maybe FN is now too). Everyone else can follow it closely (or go above) and other companies just use the cheapest parts they can get. How do you even figure that a tier 4 rifle will be just as capable as a tier 1 or tier 2 quality one? The design has been around for a long time and the extra testing and use of quality parts only aids in the reliability. People think that a quality AR is too expensive when it's not even not even that much more. Do people "need" all the extra things? Maybe not but the higher priced rifles are better any way you look at it.

Golfer, either one is a good price. The 6721 has a HBAR and 1/9" twist.

While the rifle maybe a little better in terms of performance the gains are not substantial. I would take that $200-$500 and put that towards a better scope. I much rather have a $1000 rifle and a $2000 scope.

I would go with the LMT w/SOPMOD

The SOPMOD is one of the heavier stocks out there, but if you decide you want something else, you can flip it, having only paid an extra $150 for it. (They sell for $200)

Truth. With a properly controlled process your requirement for QC checks during the process greatly decreases.
