my girlfriends parents are having a rough month financially with the bills piling up....because of this her dad is being forced to lighten his collection a bit to help out...hes selling a mint condition colt king cobra .357 w/ a 4 inch barrel in the "brite" finish. I asked her what he wanted for it and she said 300.
what should i do....i mean ive wanted that gun since i saw it but id feel kinda wierd buying it from her dad seeing as he is such an avid gun collector like so many of us are....like id feel bad cuz we all know how that is...

what should i do? Id be helpin them out but hed be losing a gun he really likes.

well, he's gonna sell it anyway. buy it and offer to sell it back when they're in a better financial situation.

Colt made awesome revolvers. Buy it. Maybe you can give it back to him as a present if things go well with your girlfriend. If not, at least you got a sweet deal on a nice pistol.

+1 on the buy it and then offer it back later. That way, the gun is kept 'in the family'. And when they are doing better budget wise, this prevents him from regretting selling it.

Im going to agree with everyone else. Buy it and if you feel like it gift it back to him in the future. Or sell it to hi later

I agree with everybody else, at least that way he knows who is buying the gun.

you all make strong points...i thought about the whole "keeping it in the family" thing....and besides, if he doesnt sell it to me, hes probably gonna wind up selling it to this pawn/gun shop in town by their house....and he aint gonna get 300 i dont think

going off of my own experience, my gf's parents wouldn't accept a $300 gift from me, and would rather buy it back when they're in a better position to do so than to have me give them a pity gun.

    this is why i'm banned:

i dont think he needs to get another revolver.. nigga already has a j-frame s&w and a s&w 686 .357 .. dude can barely afford to come to the range with me as it is, "hey man, got 9$ to go shoot?" "nah man, i only have some quarters.."

THEN QUIT BUYING FUCKING GUNS IF IT'S GOING TO PREVENT YOU FROM SHOOTING THEM, YOU CUNTWAT.

    yea.

well i told my GF yesterday that if her dad still needed to sell the gun id buy it. Then she tells me they had sold a couple of other things and made a couple hundred bucks so they may not need to sell the cobra. Now im torn w/ my emotion...should i be happy they are getting stable again or sad i cant buy that sweet colt which will be worth way more in the distant future

oh well i guess its a fair trade seeing as i get to have sex w/ his daughter on a regular basis :o
