Are you a member? Does it have a website?

The GSA at my school has done so much for me in terms of helping me with who I am (I was but two months out of the closet when I got here) and helping me establish a wonderful network of gay and allied friends... I decided that I want to do as much as I can to make sure it can do as much for many others...

http://www.smcm.edu/campus/clubspage/clubs/stars/ - designed and managed by yours truly :hs:

My university has one, and they marched in the Pride Parade in Chelsea too...

I don't want to sound bad, but, it's the WORST club...the members and I have COMPLETELY different views on things...like, an outing would consist of watching Anime together, then a dungeon's and dragon's game...and they smell...funny...

    :wtc: I'm going to hell...

But it's good we have one! :hs:

I once suggested we go to Chelsea on a Sunday and plant flowers that would be donated to us on the West side Highway, and they kind of looked at me like I was some sort of nature-boy...shit...

Following that, I suggested a lounge outing, and they looked at me like I was some sort of circuit meth whore...which I DESPISE, mind you...

My first and last meeting, thankyouverymuch...

When STARS was first created, it was much the same. There was definitely a particular type of fag there, and it wasn't the type I wanted to be associated with. As a matter of fact, it wasn't a GSA then, but a gay group. As those types graduated and the Exec Board became people that I was much more cool with, I entered the scene, and within a month was added to the Exec Board. (I had a background with other clubs/organizations on campus, so I knew my way around). Together, we made the decision to change the direction of the group, which was marked by my organizing a trip to counter-protest Fred Phelps, which elicited a negative response from the college's administration initially. But after raising more than 7k in one day, and speaking with them personally, everyone came around. Also, the President of the group was a good person to block any negative response from the college staff and administration. The next year's President was even better, and since damn near all of the Exec Board lived in one apartment, STARS grew to be one of the largest groups on campus, and officially a GSA.

The seeds were planted, and now STARS is most definitely on the right path. The old leaders where a great influence on the new leaders, and I'm really proud of the results. Taylor and the rest of the current Exec Board are doing everything right, and it's awesome.

Didn't say I wrote any of it. I said designed and managed, which is true. And I didn't know who had written it. :fawk:

And I have changed and added a few things.

...you should try to change things. Make the club your own.

    If you care. ;)

...but not enough to get a +4 super power while Morgdouche and Happlepabble are fighting with a tinfoil sword to the tune of "Turn the beat around"...
