for some reason that i have been unable to uncover, we cannot get limewire to connect at all at my college campus. they obviously set something up to block it... im wondering how i can find out what is blocking it, and how to unblock it. this is a paid version of limewire BTW, so no worries.

    thanks in advance

Yeah, that is illegal. Trying to bypass your campus's firewalls. Let's just take all the bandwidth people need for research for their reports and let it go to P2P. Brilliant idea!

Just because you paid for the software, doesn't mean the illegal software available is covered. I know the best idea, go buy the software you want and you'll never have to deal with this problem again!

if it's legal...call your college IT dept and discuss it with them. Your desire to find what is "blocking it" and "unblock it" sounds like hax to me. I thought posts about this kind of stuff was illegal??

How does paying for limewire obligate your college campus to let you use their network for P2P? Students are required to follow the rules of using the campus network, and if they don't want you to use it for limewire, then you can't.

The reason that paying for LimeWire doesn't qualify you to be allowed to use it is because you can still use the paid version to steal stuff.
