So I started summer school this week and I have been falling asleep in class which is not good because I wake up in the middle of the lesson and totally get lost. I have been cutting and am not trying to fuck up my progress in anyway. Is drinking coffee a bad idea on a strict diet?

Now that it's summer I find myself making iced coffee protein shakes and they're really good.

I take a Martini shaker and add in room temperature coffee from the prior night, packet of splenda, milk or flavored half and half, and a scoop of chocolate ON whey.
Then I shake it up in the martini shaker with ice and pour.

    It is incredible.

Depends if you sugar and cream to your coffee. Coffee creamers have a lot of sugar in it, it's almost like liquid candy. Coffee is also know to be a thermogenic aid meaning it can help raise you metabolism.

I drink like 12 cups of black coffee daily.

It esp helps me before the gym, particularly for cardio.

Just make sure you increase your water intake if you plan on drinking loads - it's a mild diuretic.

Artificial sweeteners may also present a problem if you're trying to lose weight by keeping a strict diet. Studies show that there may be a correlation between overweight individuals and artificial sweeteners. Not enough research has been done on the subject, but researchers believe that people who consume artificial sweeteners often tend to over eat to make up for the calories they aren't receiving through the artificial sweeteners. So when you consume a diet soda, you get the satisfaction or fullness you would get if you were to drink a regular soda, except you aren't receiving that calories you would get from that regular soda. And since you aren't getting any calories from that diet soda, your body craves or wants to consume the calories it didn't get from that diet soda from other foods. (i hope that made sense)
