I have ACE mega codec pack, but for some reason, some videos don't work. I've try uninstalling Ace, and loading the different types, from professional, to just player. Nothing works. Then sometimes, or always on some videos, it is half black and white, the other half is fine. Other times, some of the video is all green.

I don't know what the heck to do. I would really love it if you guys could help me out with this, it has been bothering me for a while. thank you.

If the videos as AVI use GSpot to ID the video and audio codec it's using....also to see if the video is really and AVI or not.
If it's MPG, and if it really is MPG and not a file with the .mpg extentsion when it's really avi, then mostly likely it's MPEG2 in which case need the MPEG2 codec
If it's ASF/WMV, then the file could just be fubar
