    to that security guard.

death is never good (1 or otherwise), but imagine if the shooter hadn't been taken out. 7000 people there at the time :eek4:

FYI, from peeps in CO; the "armed security guard" was a female parishioner who was among a group of people who volunteered to CCW on the church grounds following a shooting incident at a sister church earlier that day. Not a square badge sporting private security contractor, as the news here has reported.

I bet you never hear the newmedia mention that she was a civilian with CCW. But I hope it does.

Media probably wouldn't want the sheeple knowing that omgz, regulars people can walk around with gunnnzzz on their hipz... ahhhhhh

Exactly my point. Even though the security is an impromptu volunteer group, saying it was a security guard "de-civilianizes" the shooting, and avoids putting the thought in peoples heads that a regular person with a gun and some fairly basic training really can prevent Columbines and V-Techs from happening.

    Link to CO forums?

Fox never said anything about them being a CCW, just that they were volunteers. I know they were probably CCWers, but I want a little more proof for future gun control debates.

I read volunteer and first thing I thought was off duty police. Then 2 seconds later my brain clicked and I thought about CCW.

And im a hard core right to carry person, Im sure they wrote it the way they did on purpose.

From the way that's written, I wouldn't necessarily say she was a cop... just that she's "experienced", whatever that means.

She is definitely a CCWer though...:bigthumb:

 My brother and his family lives in CO Springs, but they don't go to that church.

I live an hour north of there. I love my state. My other state, not so much.

This chick was on Larry King last night. She's hot. Long blonde hair and a tight little bod but she didn't say much.

Here are the facts from LK last night, it wasn't CCW...she was a member of that church and had volunteered to act as security for them. She was previously a LEO but isn't now. They knew of the shootings earlier up north and the church was concerned about safety. There were other armed security guards that were close but they were hiding.

Then on Anderson Cooper 360, they had another dude that was in the church give his account. He said the woman walked towards the suspect, firing at him and killing him...while the suspect was firing at her!!! She wasn't behind some walls or anything like that. He made it sound like she just walked right through the direct fire on her to take the guy out. He said it was the gutsiest thing he's ever seen in his life....even in his 18 months in Vietnam!

He also told about another security guard that was hiding behind a wall with his gun drawn. He yelled at the guard to do something but he wouldn't. Then he asked for the guys gun but he wouldn't give it to him. So he went into the hallway and yelled at the suspect. When the suspect turned to fire, he dove out of the way....taking one in the leg. The security guard was still hiding. Then as he got back up, he saw the woman advancing from the side and firing on the suspect.

Great coverage last night. She's a super hero...and a damned good looking one to boot. Here's what she said: "I just knew what I had to do," said Assam. "It was me, the gunman and God."
