On tv right now... Show is about living longer and they have this BS couple saying how they feel better with a calorie restricted diet and will live longer. :ugh:
The guy is 6'0 115 and eats 1900 a day and the woman is 5'2 102 and consumes 1300 calories a day. Cool show but dumb couple :dunno:

To use a candle as a metaphor, would you rather burn brightly and quickly or slowly and dimly?

I'm questioning their approach because they think just eating below maintenance is going to give them extended life just because studies with rats have shown this. They don't workout ever and the food they eat isn't that clean but rather extremely small portioned. I mean I'm happy they are trying to improve their life but find it interesting they don't exercise while not bringing in enough calories for daily functions.

For the guy I understand why you could think he was dumb, 6' and 115lbs is really skinny and when someone is that skinny it's hard to picture them as healthy. The girl though, 5'2" and 102, that's a pretty decent height/weight for a girl imo.

I eat 1900 cals when cutting down and usually feel great doing so.

If I had the drive, I would love to be able to constantly stay at 2,000 cals for years on end with healthy ratios.

the more you eat the faster you will die. fairly ignorant thing to say but nonetheless it is basically true.

Plus Im not sure why someone with no goals to get bigger or stronger should eat more than 1900 cals per day :dunno:
