The CMP has been successful in acquiring another large quantity of HXP .30-06 ammo. We expect delivery in Jan 2010 and should have the ammo ready for sale by Feb or Mar. Until we actually receive and inspect the ammo, we will not know what packaging configurations will be available, but expect them to be the same as we have had for the past few years. We do not yet know what our final cost will be. We do know that the quantity is large enough to satisfy our customer needs for several years. We will not accept any pre-orders or establish a waiting list. Thanks for your support and patience.

For those who do matches, CMP is now selling the HORNADY .30-06 Ammo.

Looks like the cheapest it sells for. Still too pricey for everyday firing though. :hs:

What is the status of the ROK carbines that were supposed to be coming in? That may not have been through CMP but through some other intermediary.

CMP won't touch them, most likely being sold by SOG, Century, etc. Most people on the CMP forums said that if they are anything like the older Korean imports (which they most likely are) they are junk. CMP stores will still have some SG carbines from all manufacturers, bet very small amounts. The only way you're gonna get a SG carbine for the near future is to drive to the CMP and hope that they have some when you get there. Field Grade Rifles are still available, including the Bavarian returns

249 for 200 rounds. They currently have it in stock in the E-store.

"Hornady .30-06 Spr. Ammuniton, Bullet: 168 gr. A-Max, Velocity: 2700 fps at the muzzle - 200 rounds in a case (20 rds per box, 10 boxes inside a cardboard over pack).
    $249.00 plus $8.95 S&H per case. Alaska/Hawaii - $16.95 S&H per case."

Way too rich for my blood but I don't shoot comp. :o

I did, but it was an M1 Rifle, not a carbine. Worked out pretty well, gun was in great shape except for a crappy Greek-replacement stock.

As long as it's decently affordable, reloadable, and sufficiently accurate (I'd love some Ball ammo made to Overhead Fire specs), this is great news, regardless of mfg.

No, not that ammo. They are getting cheaper new production ammo that should be in stock by March.

    It won't be "match" ammo.

I'd kill for Overhead Fire Ball at under $0.35/round, shipped.....or even decently made regular M1 or M2 Ball....

Slightly OT, I inherited a couple ammo cans from my late grandfather, who was into the match shooting etc, same size as a .50 can, marked "Ammunition, Cal .30, M72 MATCH, 20rd cartons"....and I was so excited....then I saw the cans full of his gear and once-fired '06 brass. Which was still a win, just not quite as epic as the match ammo would have been.
