    looks like my commercial buffer tube... measure the diameter to be sure.

    Mil-spec = 1.146” OD
    Commercial = 1.170” OD

    take a string, or rip up a piece of paper.... wrap around tube... make mark on string/paper.... unroll.... measure.... and:

    where "x" is the measurement for the above step, in inches:

    sqrt( x / 3.14159 ) * 2 = OD

    Circumference is roughly 3.6875"...which comes out to 1.173" OD. Looks like its commercial. :(

    At least I get to move up from 4 to 6-position. :hsd:

    does going to the 6 position make the length of pull any longer? my problem with the CMMG rifle is that LOP is too short to be comfortable.

    J/K, but unless you're over like 6'5'' it should be ok. You must like to shoot really bladed. you should get a full size fixed stock. This is assuming you shoot nose to charging handle of course.

    I don't see how it could, since you're not adding buffer tube.

    That is just shameful for an engineering student to lapse on something so simple.

    Are you an "Industrial Engineering" student, by any chance? :hsugh:

    Depending where he is in school. As I got into upper division stuff, the basics would start to slip and I'd try to over analyze things.
