When I hit my 1yr mark in the USAF back in May 07 I only got $129.60. When are you supposed to get the standard initial clothing allowance?

you got 1200 in bootcamp, you just dont remember (might not of been 1200, but it was a lot) and mostly because it was all taken away for every uniform.

You don't get it in cash. You get $1200 worth of uniforms and initial-issue crap.

    some things i noticed.

Marine Corps has the highest initial allowance, specially females. Yet they have the second lowest cash clothing replacement allowance.

Airforce has the lowest initial and standard allowance. I can see why. Those "dress blues" look more like a cheap business suit. Mine are stuffed at the bottom of a seabag with the other crap I got from the air guard that I never used, like bdu's and what not. Before you ask, I'm a loadmaster, so all I used was a flightsuit. Now my Marine dress blues are neatly pressed and hanging in my closet ready for use, which will be as soon as my package gets approved and returns from HQMC

I wonder what the special clothing allowance for the Navy is for? and how come the other services don't have it?

I hate the flight suit, it looks gay, like you shirt your pants. A2CU for me, but it will cost $400 a set when it is available for purchase at clothing and sales.

We're getting new uniforms this year so they're giving everyone a bump to cover it.

you most definatly got paid more your first paycheck which was immediatly taken out for the uniforms you got in bootcamp, unless you joined 30 years ago I don't know how they did it back then.
