I'm looking to pick up a 360 soon to play some exclusives and was curious as to the modding of them. I know there's some chips available, but I've also heard about some firmware flashes that supposedly do the same thing. Do these things work, or should I break out the soldering iron?

Not really, if your even a bit techincal savvy you probably have the parts laying around.

I did on my first modded box. I did'nt need to buy anything.
