Been cloudy since thanksgiving and I got bored so I build a server and set up remote scope and camera control on it. Last night was "first light" for the new gear and it worked perfectly at 0 degs F while I was nice and warm in my basement controlling everything. hehe was so cold the 40D actually got put in the frig to "warm up" slowly. I got 2 images in that session, the first is Flame Nebula. I had to heavily process it to get the detail out and I really needed 180second frames. I only got 120seconds and thats about the limit of my scopes mount. The second image is a really cool galaxy "M82" sometimes referred to as "the irregular galaxy" due to it being torn apart by the gravimetric pull of a nearby galaxy which I didn't get in the frame. I'll post it up as soon as its finished stacking/processing.
