There are somehow smudges on my monitor, and I needs to clean them off. I've never cleaned off an LCD monitor, and I'm curious how I should go about it/what I should use. I don't want to damage my precious. :wtc:

do a search on amazon for LCD cleaner, there is an actual kit you can buy (with a nice dry "cloth" to use to clean LCD monitors, that also comes with "damp" cloth cleaning materials if its a really bad smudge.

Spray windex on a paper towel or lint-free cloth and wipe. I wouldn't spray it right on the monitor or near the K/B though as windex can short stuff given the right conditions.

Been using it on displays for > 10 years without trouble. What's your issue?

windex can harm coatings on some CRTs... and is damaging to almost all LCDs.

My LCD manual says use a cloth with diluted isopropyl alchohol (1:1) and dry with a soft dry cloth.
