I used to keep my service dress 100% up to date and ready to go. Now I find myself without the correct rank and missing three ribbons and soon to be a bronze oak leaf cluster on one of the ribbons I have not even added.

:nono: you need to keep that stuff up to date.
You never know when you will need it.

They are a pita especially when you change ranke 3 times in less then 2 yrs, change units twice, and add a tab. I don't have many ribbons so thats not bad but the sewing and getting it cleaned and pressed is annoying. I also had to pick up a white shirt and bowtie for a dining in next week. My orig green class-b shirt wouldn't let me button the top button my neck lol

never buy the thin medals either. as soon as you spend the money on them, you get another one.
There was this really smart guy (sarcasm) in my ALS class, he bought his rack in thin medals so he would look sharp for the class. He was boasting how much he had spent on them in class one day while showing them off, so I started laughing and pointed out that by completing the course, he would be awarded a PME ribbon. You should have seen his face when it hit him that all the money he just spent was only good for six weeks.

It counts for nothing towards promotion. It is pretty meaningless.

Those are by far my favorite ribbons! I love seeing guys with three full rows and ZERO promotion points. By this time next year I will have three full rows and a minimum of two with points:noes:

i have like only 5 ribbons ph and a cib are the only two things worth promotion points. I do have around 200 cc hours though which is about 40 pp.

I just got my 5 and I'm getting out in a year, promotion points are meaningless to me.

Class As used to be a major pain in my ass while on active duty. We'd have an inspection in them every quarter and most of the time I was buying new stuff for them, especially the gold US and corps discs. Glad I only wear them once a year now.
