I have a couple questions about it, because i'm about to start one

    Here is my daily schedule

    MW

    1:30 - 3:30 - Water Polo
    4:00 - 5:00 - Weightlifting at the gym
    5:30 - 7:30 - water polo

    TTH
    1:30 - 3:30 - Water polo
    4:00 - 5:00 - Running ( HIIT running)
    5:30 - 7:30 - water polo

with a schedule like this would a keto diet do anythign for me?

you'd really want carbs around the days you have water polo, which is 4 out of 7 days. I would say it's a bad idea. If you want to diet, just eat in a deficit with 1g/lb protein, 25% fat or so, the rest carbs.

dont need a fancy diet to lose weight. set cals just below maintenance, which would be very high for you id imagine.

depleted glycogen levels and water polo don't really go hand in hand.

I can see strength based activities not being too heavily effected. However, something like water polo?

however glycogen is depleted much more in anaerobic activity.

DiPasquale talks about it in his Metabolic Diet book... basically he says that you find the just the right amount of carbs your body needs (which is below what you are eating now, probably), and you stick with that. Your body will "learn" to burn fat more efficiently for energy due to the low levels of carbohydrates, and fat contains way more energy than carbs. That's where the endurance increasing effects will be obtained for running marathons, etc.

so should i just adjust the keto diet and allow more carbs into my system then normal?

because from what i was told.. if i don't eat carbs durin the week then all my enegery will be burned from my fat..

so what exactly should i be eating in order to achieve maximum muscle gain and fat loss with this schedule that i have?

because the vibe im getting from your responses is that a CKD diet will not benefit me while playing water polo and lifting everyday

are you saying no matter what i do i won't be able to gain muscle and lose fat, or with my current schedule i won't?

i'm more concerned with losing the fat and getting toned up

unless you start taking steroids you won't be physically capable of gaining muscle and losing fat.

Toning is a one of those fitness terms thats used often but is often meaningless.

I suggest going on a basic diet, should be outline in the archives. It'll require counting calories.

You could consider TKD instead of CKD
