What's F&Ns opinion on Cissus? Hocus pocus or does it help.

I am struggling with tendonitis in my elbow that is currently keeping me out of the gym. Wondering if anyone has tried Cissus to help with tendons.

It might help a bit, but honestly change your training, ice, get deep tissue massage, don't mask the problem, solve it.

I agree. If it only acts to mask the pain (ie. like an NSAID) then I am not interested. I've read it may help promote the healing of tendons however.

To your other points, I'll have to investigate other ways to train. I have been doing Starting Strength and it's been working well for me. I took 4-5 weeks off to rest the elbow, returned and slowly increased weight only to have it bite me in the ass again as I approached my previous weights. Perhaps I should have given it more time.

IMO active release therapy works wonders. Find someone in your area that does it.
