We're looking to replace our main 24 port switch. I'm wondering how you all feel about Cisco switches with respect to their cost. For example, I can get a 24 port Cisco switch for $850 or I can get an HP 24 port switch for $340. The same HP switch in the 48 port flavor is about the same cost as the 24 port Cisco. Is it worth the cost, or should we travel down the HP road?

Note: I know CDW is overpriced, but it's a common way to compare these prices.

We have all HP switches here in our admin building and as the primary switches at the remote sites. We're using their edge switches, not their core line up. Solid stuff.

Cisco makes good stuff, but you pay for the name. HP also makes great switches.

In your situation, I'd end up with the HP, most likely.
