Do I need a special slim/wide-angle circular polarizer for the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens from canon, to prevent vignetting? If so, where can I find one?

Why would a slimmer one increase vignetting?

Adding any kind of filter that lens would double the value.

save your money for a CPL on a better lens. You'll probably upgrade from the kit lens so you'd be wasting your money unless you get a step up adapater, but the kit lens' size is so small ><
