Alright OT, I'm up for a new phone, and I am more than likely going with Cingular as my service provider(coming from a Nextel and thoroughly disappointed). Coming from Nextel which is nearly featureless I'm overwhelmed by the selection and choice of available features, so please reccommend a phone for me. Please include pros and cons, oh, and my price range is around $200. thanks

Nokia 6230. I've been with Cingular for about 4 years now, and have owned 7 different brands/models of phones and I always go back to the Nokia's for build quality and better RF than the others.

I'm in the same boat. I picked up a BlackBerry 7100g last Saturday, but they won't set me up to get my work e-mail because it's privately owned. :-\

...so I'm debating whether or not it's worth keeping for my personal mail or if I should just return it and use my euro 6230 (no 850 MHz) for now until something cool (high-res screen + full bluetooth + edge) comes out.

if the thing didn't have such a nice high-res screen, i wouldn't have so much trouble with giving it up. :o

If you are a no frills kinda guy, the 6230 is a good basic phone with a punch. I don't like the 5600 just cause I've never been impressed with an audiovox handset.

Ugh. I don't know how many times I have to say this, but the SMT5600 is not made by audiovox. It was made by HTC and also goes by C500. Audiovox just put its name on the damn thing because it is the redistributor.
