He's a real boner-sucker. He got Destroyed by Rampage in PRIDE, Overeem gave him more problem than just about anyone in the UFC had up to that point, and then Rampage smashed him again in the UFC, but him barely beating Wandy in a 3 round decision means UFC > Pride?

I cant stand this guy more and more every year.

A UFC fighter promoting the UFC... I don't see a problem with that.

I wish you could put $ on what injuries will be sustained. I have a feeling Evans' eye will look like a black catcher's mitt by the time the fight hits mid 2nd round.

Yeah Liddell is favourite, but people are writing Rashad off far too easily.

Of his last 3 fights, Liddell went to decision twice and was knocked out in one. Not to mention Silva had at least one point where he probably could have stomped Chuck out if not for the cage rules.

Before this, Chuck's victories were a meaningless rematch against a no-longer-elite Tito, a win over a reckless Babalu, and a knockout against Couture where Couture made a simple mistake / unlucky slip (with Randy later saying he was not right mentally and later proved with his comeback).

What I'm basically saying is that while Liddell is still elite and has great wrestling and a good ground game, he's still one-dimensional. Evans is mentally strong and an excellent athlete, a steady improver, and has a good camp behind him. That's at least enough to give him a good shot at the upset, or to at least take this to a decision, win or lose.

I can't tell you how Evans would win this. He does seem to have striking power but it's unlikely he'll be able to knock Liddell out, much less knock him down. It'd also be risky for him to strike to get inside and take Chuck down because that's what Chuck is so great at countering.

Evans' teammate Jardine already implemented a good gameplan of legkicks to beat Liddell. If Liddell is smart, he will look to surprise Evans with takedowns of his own off any attempted leg kicks or if Evans tries to strike to get to the inside. While Evans might have trouble GnPing Liddell if he gets the takedown, he'll be content to at least be scoring points simply from the takedown even if Chuck scrambles back up or the blanket gets stood back up.

So Evans' plan could likely be to not chase Chuck on the feet (and force Chuck to engage, as Rampage successfully did). He might be able to surprise Chuck with his striking, and his Disco Rashad evasion, and maybe even unleash the Salmonator kick. Whenever the opportunity arises, he will look for a takedown to score points, even if the fight gets back to the feet shortly afterwards.

Anyway Chuck probably gets the KO/TKO or decision if it goes that far, but I wouldn't bet the house on it, and I'm personally hoping Rashad takes this. Forrest had nothing for Rampage remember.

I used to be a big fan of Chuck until he became Dana's mouth piece.

Chuck has taken the UFC place of Tito as the delusional talker.

Mr. Whup, what you've just typed is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

evans is a wrestler...and he won't be able to take chuck down. the only way rashad wins this is if they give him a gun.

Yeah, but I'm the village idiot... Chuck will take this, but I hope Rashad can at least show up for his beating.

Quoting from Billy Madison? Now that's just unfunny, and lazy.

God damn you fuckers are stupid! I miss The Humungus already.

Chuck is multi-skilled, but he's one dimensional because you KNOW he's going to keep the fight standing and knock you out. That's his gameplan!

You can still be great at all aspects of the game and still be one-dimensional.

Those take downs on WANDY were pretty one dimensional too.

He's a college wrestler and a BJJ purple belt, pretty one dimensional if you ask me!
