I have a question about this...how close are the 5 sets to the actual working weight, is it more like 5 difficult sets or a build up to a max attempt. For example, if im working with 255, should my 5 sets be 135x5, 175x5, 205x5, 235x5, 255x5? or more like 205, 225, 235, 245, 255? Thanks for the help

On another note, if any of you guys are curious about the details of Oly lifting or any of the lifts, i was coached all summer by former USA olympic coach Jim Schmitz, so i have a shitload of workouts and know the technique and all that...peace

On the heavier lifts (squat & DL) I use 20lb jumps. On lighter lifts I use 15lb or 10lb jumps. Some lifts I use 5lb increments.

I was using 5lb increments for a while, using the little 2.5lb weights on either side. I started doing 10lb increments a month ago, and my maxes have gone up a good amount.
