Is there a downside to taking huge pics? I like scenery pics and out and about photos and I always have them on 7.1 m.p. Now should I expect the pic quality to lessen if the pics are always large? Is there any downside at all? Why would somebody only take small pics besides saving room on their memory card?:)

in my opinion, you should always shoot at the highest possible setting you can because you can always resize it down without a significant quality loss but you can't resize it up and still retain good quality.

Aside from the obvious capacity advantages, is there any reason why you don't use RAW+Large .jpg instead? Just wondering...

    Why shoot RAW + JPEG?

I shoot RAW regularly (cause I often have to fix my white balance, not very good at that part yet), but I don't see the need to shoot the extra JPEG file.

What advantage does that give you guys? and how well does LR handle it?

I just shoot raw and have a PS action to convert raw-> jpgs. Saves me having to do image adjustment 2x.
