Im looking to get a 10/22 for two reasons. The price is pretty good, and the aftermarket is awsome. So thats where im leaning.

Im looking for some other .22's in semi-auto that are around the 200 dollar (lets say 230 tops) mark that are good quality and such. I dont mind used as i have a shop near by that gets a lot of used rifles.

What other ones should I look int. I have heard good things about Marlin, but again, im not sure what to look for.

I will use it as a range run, hell maybe some squirel hunting, but mainly for paper and some cans at the range.

    thanks in advanced.

as far as what your wanting I would say stop stressing it and get the 10/22.

Rem has there little .22 auto. I don't care for it.
    Browning ......$$$
Marlin is decent but cant touch a 10/22 for ease of parts and tricks.

    Alright, thanks everyone.

as for the P22, it would be nice, but im not 21 yet, so no dice for now,

Looks like its time to save up a bit and get the 10/22.

time to start scouring some pawn shops. I got a stock and barrel for a 10/22 from a gun show that I was thinking about selling, and still might, but for now if i can find one cheap enough i can switch it to these nice stocks and sell teh other ones.

or ill just sell em and buy one from Big 5 (around 200 for Black, around 250 for Stainless)

There is a stainless 10/22 which was produced only for Wal-Mart. It's stainless with a 22" barrel, for $214. That's pretty much the best buy that can be found on one. Might be worth checking into.

They had the stainless here for 219 last week, but every other week it seems to go on sale. So at BIG 5 maybe it will come around again.

If you want a rifle, then get the 10/22. It's a nice rifle for the money and if you like it, then you can really get into that gun.

If you're wanting a handgung, then Ruger 22/45.

It appears Ruger has their .22s down.

I'm pretty sure they're no longer in production, but there are still lots of them left. I know of several locally :)
