I'm a pretty big dude, but I do dress moddish over the holiday season despite being a fatass. Been wearing my 501s for way too long. What's a good fitting chino I can wear with polo/button-down and my pea-coat?

Well, I dont recommend J. Crew chinos. The pocket openings flare out on the side and make it look like you have hips. Thats how they fit me anyway.

I hate seeing them on young people

Might just be the stigma attached here

not a fan either. probably a stigma thing too, most of the douches i went to high school with wear polos or rugby shirts, khakis and go to the irish pubs to listen to shitty celtic rock bands

they all wear shitty fiitting clothes though, so if you find some that fit you youll at least be a step ahead. good luck

MJK or the classic fit ones at jcrew for me, uvcs were pretty decent too. I also picked up a pair of black and khaki ones from Gap in Texas that actually said slim, tapered on them and they fit amazing. I've never seen them anywhere online or in store from then since though...

Def a regional stigma. That's interesting to know though.

I'll be sure not to wear chinos next time I'm in ireland.
