architecture...just wander the loop area (main downtown). Stay away from Navy Pier...tourist trap. Please don't take a picture of the bean! The museums are excellent places to go. You have to get some deep dish pizza and some Italian Beef sandwiches :)

I hate that bean so much......

During the summer though it is fun to take pictures of people intrigued by it.

There are some really great spots west of downtown, across halsted near the fulton market/ meat packing area, especially if the light is good.

    Now that is cool.

I think most of my problem is I am not a touristy person and every time I am there it is just surrounded my tourists.

Yes, that is a good shot. 99.9% of the shots usually show all 100 million tourists standing around.

Dude, you have to check out Rosebud on Taylor street if you want some Italian food. Good pizza to be had at Lou Malnati's and D'Agasino's. Late night Polish at Jim's Original or Maxwell Street. Decent fried seafood for late night munchies at Lawrence Fisheries or Goose Isand Shrimp House. Man, you gotta give me some ideas on what you want to eat... so much good food in the city, the only thing we need is some really good bbq.

Gotcha, I mispelled one of the pizza places, it's D'Agostino's.

Where are you staying? That would help me give you some places too...

Yeah, I work at Elizabeth and Fulton.

There is a bar at the top of the Hancock Building. Take the elevator to the Signature Room and go up one floor to the bar. It's free and faster to get up and down than going to the Sears Tower. You won't have that cool ledge, but you'll have $15 more bucks in your pocket. That's my secret Chicago tip.

The breakfast at the restaurant at the base of Sofitel is pretty good, they give you an awesome basket of croissants and really good coffee, a litle pricey though. If you like thin crust pizza, Osteria Via Stato's bar has awesome thin crust, ask for bread when you order and they'll bake a fresh loaf for you. If you have a car, you have to get an italian sandwich from Bari Foods, they have the best bread and make the freshest sandwiches.
