So I went to a herbalist that has been highly recommended to me by many. He is proficient in herbal medicines, accupuncture, massage etc.. Had his own clinic for 15 years. I got there he asked to feel my pulse, and asked to see my tongue ( I know, I know, cue the porn music ) Anyway, he was able to tell a few things from this, he talked about my lack of sleep, and high anxiety. Keep in mind I went to him for help with my lower back issues. He explained that from what he can tell, I am eating foods that are inhibiting my blood flow and proper nurtrients to my body, especially places like my back. He explianed that accupuncture and massage can help short term, but to cure the problem, I need to make some changes to allow for better "yin" for a permanent cure. Basically increasing the yin will increase or at least the better the blood flow in my system. I cannot remember all of his explanation, but I am curious to try what he says. He also told me that all this stuff is relative. One diet may be good for one person, but not good at all for another. We went through my diet and he asked me to change it for a week. These are the foods he told me to concentrate on: wheat, oats, millet, barley, PORK, chicken, duck, BONE MARROW SOUPS, eggs, butter, goat milk and cheese, black sesame seeds, SQUASH etc... those are a few of the many. He said avoid these foods: chillies, curry, cinnamon, garlic, ginger, onion, shallots, basil, coffee, tea, wasabi, citrus, pickles, vinegar. He did say however, when I am stressed and suffer anxiety to eat some of the avoided foods. With this diet change he wants me to try for one week, actual herbs in concentrated pill form. I will have 3 a day, 3 times a day. Has anyone delt with this stuff? What are your thoughts?
