Has anyone repaired a "broken" power cord for an ibook? My puppy chewed mine in half and if I don't have to spend $80 on a new a one that'd be great...

I tried putting the cord back together, but that didn't work. Obviously, i'm doing something wrong.

Does anyone know of or have experience with buying a generic power cord such as this one:

I've seen a couple generic ones for sale online. And this will be the 3rd power cord I've had to replace for this damn thing :wtc:

yea $80 is a rip off.... but that's Apple... All of their accessories are expensive. Ebay hasn't been much help either, unfortunately. I'm gonna take it in t work and have the eletricians take a look at it.

The generic power adapters work fine. Just make certain they will work with your ibook and you should be fine.

Fucking faggot apple taking advantage of their customers again. They know shit like this is bound to happen, and they know that we're stupid enough to pay $80 for a power adapter since we bought a mac in the first place...

I had to buy a new one after the part that plugs INTO the laptop broke.

The *minute* gap that is there on the metal circular part got bigger and wasn't making a complete connection.

$80.00 later I was back in Biz...

Moral of the story - ALWAYS use the plastic cap that comes with the power cord.
