I do back with biceps because on back days I tend to do a lot of pulling motions so that gives my biceps a workout as well. Same concept with chest and triceps.

I think I see most people pair back/bicep, shoulder/tricep, and have a different day for chest. Mine is:

    chest/abs
    legs/lower back
    shoulders/triceps/traps
    upper back/biceps

I just started though so I have to take a couple days off in there sometimes, especially since my triceps/shoulders are sore for a couple days after chest day.

    I do:
    M: Chest+shoulders
    T: Back+core
W: off/cardio if I have nothing else to do
    T: Legs
    F: Arms+Abs

That's a pretty geneic breakdown of my routine, I like it best because I feel I get the best workout for each muscle group that way. Doing back+biceps really either screwed me over on both, same with chest/shoulder and triceps. Since back and chest are bi/tri minor's by default, I just let myself get 1.5 workouts for my arms per week instead of just 1. Deadlift hits my legs a little too, so that's like 1.5 leg workouts a week, that's how I like to view it.

I gained 80 lbs and my arms grew an entire inch and a half I think. Maybe it was just an inch though, it depresses me to think about it
