What are some calorie free or really low calorie ways I can add some flavor to chicken, eggs, ground turkey, oats, and ground beef? I've been watching cooking shows lately and it makes me really want to spruce up my food, but I'm dieting so it's a little more difficult.

Currently I just throw Frank's Red Hot sauce on just about everything because it's calorie free. Any ideas for sauces I can make or ways to prepare the food so that's really good? Maybe some spices that go really well with certain foods?

    Thanks for any input.

I usually use a lot of peper, vegeta seasoning, and A1 sauce. As for the oatmeal, I use artificial sweetners to make it taste sweeter.

Chicken = Any type of spices or rubs. I like oregano and garlic. Lemon Pepper seasoning is great as well.

Eggs = 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and some hot sauce. Makes the eggs less bland and adds very litle cals, and the cottage cheese even adds like 14g's of protein per 1/2 cup.

Ground Turkey/Ground Beef = Salt, pepper, garlic, dried chili flakes, chopped onions. You would be surprised how much these basic ingrediants can really make beef/turkey taste better.

Oats = Add in very small slices of apples, blue berries, strawberries or pears... Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon and you are golden.

Gorund Turkey i usually make into tasty burgers. I load them up with green/red peppers, onions, spinach, garlic, and some cajun spice.

i put them on a whole weat bun topped with cottage cheese and some romain lettuce tastes great!!!

Not really low cal per-say, but for those of you fimiliar with Chipotle, I make my own burrito bowl and it rocks. You can make everything in large amounts ahead of time and just put it together anytime you want.

Make one large pot of brown rice and once cooked add some diced cilantro and lime juice.

Make a pot of low sodium black beans with pepper and hot sauce.

Throw a bunch of cut up boneless skinless chicken breasts in a skillet and cook with garlic and dried chili pepper flakes.

Chop up an assload of black olives.

Have some good cheese on hand.

    - Put all that stuff in tupperware containers and whenever you feel like it just get a large bowl out and throw in some rice, top that black beans, top that chicken, top that with cheese... Warm it up and throw some olives and hot sauce on it.

Incredibly healthy, and incredibly good. My typical servings of this resemble: 650 cals, 14g fat, 70g carbs, 70g protein.

Unless you're a powerlifter... In which case spices and herbs are considered butter, oil, and cheese.

onions, bellpeppers (sometimes), low sodium season-all, black pepper, parsley, oregano, garlic powder, hot sauces, sometimes habanero peppers, lemon juice, etc...

    mix & match as necessary.
