And I prefer the design to the iPod. But I was told it has digital media rights (DMR) built into it that will not allow it to play noncopyrighted music?

Anyone know if this is true or if they've been hacked yet?

of course if you buy from their store you'll have to deal with their ridiculous rules but just don't bother :dunno:

i had one for a few months than it died. was okay until then - i'm only not bitter because i got a full refund :hs:

was CLOSE to buying one but went with another ipod :mamoru:

iTunes on a Mac =

    iPod + WinAmp + PC =

love the iPod interface, the Zune is 2nd best IMO, love Apple service , honestly iTunes + iPod is the way to go for portable music IMO

The only thing that turns me off to the Zune is lack of capacity.

Hmm, I'm going to go play with a Zune in a store again but am gravitating towards it. My iPod really hasn't served me well since it was new so I'm open to something different.

Fair enough. I currently have 1 60 gig and 2 30's and I couldn't be happier. Although I use Macs so I get the updated, native, baller iTunes that PC users miss out on. :hs:

I don't think the Zune interface is as nice as the iPod interface, the touch-wheel is great IMO :dunno:

Navigating an iPod is second nature to me now, once you're used to doing it while exercising it becomes even more drilled into your mind. Perhaps that's the way with any portable music player, but the iPod is such a nice, intuitive, 1 handed movement.

zune is proven to have had a failed launch lol

  14. My old 3rd gen iPod stinks. I want a new one, but don't want to deal with iTunes anymore. Probably gonna get something where I can just drag and drop music directly onto the device.

having to import playlists instead of creating them on the ipod makes me want to poke my fucking eyes out.

from the few times ive used my brothers im convinced its another overhyped sackridden apple peice of shit for the trendy faggots.

the touchwheel is pretty nice, but other than that i hate the thing.

It's touch sensitive in speed and firmness, i've gotten it down. I can scroll through that thing and adjust volume like a professional.

The volume is a slide, to adjust tracks you can press on either the left or right sides of the touch-wheel to seek.

I love my iPod and have had no real problems with it other than the fact that the battery took a dump. $5 on eBay later, and I had a new one, installed it in 5 minutes. I have a 2nd gen Mini 4gig.

Biggest benefit I see about the iPod over the Zune, well, benefits, are aftermarket support...everyone makes stuff for the iPod. Cases, car adapters, iPod compatible head units, cars that come from the factory with an iPod adapter built in, etc... And the fact that it's a virtual guarantee that it isn't going anywhere.

The Zune got such a shaky start that I personally am not convinced yet that it's gonna be around much longer, maybe 2 years tops.

Don't get me wrong, I would love the Zune to succeed, all it would mean is that iPod prices would drop due to the inevitable price wars, which is good for all parties involved, except maybe Apple and Microsoft.

I use mine in the gym, and I have the Harmon Kardon Drive + Play in my truck wired into my aux input. I never have CDs in my vehicles. My wife's car has an Alpine HU with the iPod full speed cable. So basically, I just like the support for the iPod, and the fact that it's the defacto standard that's not going away any time soon.
