So he went around a turn (in the rain) and his breaks locked up making him go off the road a little and hit a little 3 foot stump that managed to flip him over. He was not wearing a seatbelt but amazingly ended getting a couple big cuts on his forehead and 3 stitches on his nose. Another buddy of mine was in the passenger seat (wore his seatbelt) ended up with a scratch on his nose.

    SO LUCKY!

Whats incredibly funny about this whole thing (but better than reckless driving), he got a 260$ ticket for being in the wrong lane and driving to fast for conditions.

Sounds to me like he was driving like an asshole. Because as far as I'm concerned, you'd kinda have to be driving like one to lose control and flip one of the best handling cars in America. Only good thing is he didn't take out a family driving down the street while he was being a douchebag behind the wheel. Bad thing is a perfectly good M3 had to die, and he didn't get ejected and splattered across the trees for his assbaggery.

That's what you should be saying to your buddy. And you should follow it up with an advertisement for the nearest driving school.

    I tend to agree.

I don't care if he was driving on ice covered in motor oil; if he had been paying attention and driving appropriately, he wouldn't have gone off the road, much less gone off the road fast enough to flip a sports car. This isn't a Suburban we're talking about here -- the laws of physics favor an M3 staying upright under all reasonable conditions.

And what the fuck was he doing driving without a seatbelt? That seals the deal; this guy is a complete fucking idiot, lucky though he may be.

I have to agree with the others, you have to do something really wrong in most cases (other than maybe avoiding something unexpected in the road) to go wheels up in an M3.

Some kid here in Arlington just the other day wasn't as lucky as your friend. He was speeding, came up on a curve too tight to handle, lost control, was ejected and killed. Ruined a perfectly good 4th gen Accord in the process.

    wow!
    Damn lucky there.

NXT2.0 would have lowered his coefficeint of drag and kept him on track imo.

Well i know he's a dumb fuck when it comes to safely driving, and he was going faster than he should of in the rain (thats why he got a ticket for that), but his brakes locked up and a little 3 foot stumped owned his car.

    W/e he's mad lucky.

Yeah, he's mad lucky, considering he survived flipping over the sports car he was driving too fast in the rain through the woods with no seatbelt and no airbag and worn-out brakes. (Why the hell did he change out the steering wheel anyway?) So make sure he realizes that he's never going to get that lucky again.

He got the steering wheel like that, and we just found out today from his insurance company that this car has been totaled before and he didn't know their wasn't an airbag. So he's probably going to court for that.

WOW! He really is as fucking stupid as I thought. "didn't know there was an airbag"??!!??!!?? Umm, one look at the fucking steering wheel would have told anyone with more than two working brain cells that there wasn't a fucking airbag. Might wanna tell him not to bring that up in court, unless he feels like being publicly humiliated by a judge, lawyers, and pretty much anyone else in the courtroom. Only thing he MAY have in his favor is if the vehicle didn't have a salvage title on it because someone took it to a different state and got a new title issued. I'm thinking the chances of that are pretty slim in todays day and age.

How the fuck can anybody who knows shit about cars look at a steering wheel WITH BOLTS COMING THROUGH THE FRONT OF IT and not realize the airbag is missing? Where exactly did he think the airbag could have come out from? Did he think it was going to pop out of the dashboard or something?

This guy is lucky he lived, but perhaps the rest of the world isn't. He clearly lacks common sense.
