A couple months ago I read an article where an original 1921 Thompson that was found in a dusty locker at a Sheriff's dept was auctioned off for ~$80K.

    Edit-

Have Thompson's been worth a lot for a while? My father used to be a firearm's instructor for the NYSP in the 70s and 80s and at least in the early 70s they still brought ought the Thompsons once in a while.

a few on auction arms 1928's are going for over $22k and m1a1 under 20k. Think they've been up around that price for a few years back in the 70's and early 80's I'm sure they were quite a bit less.

    Thompson are definately up there.

1921 Colt Thompsons are pretty prime. Not to mention the expensive 100 rnd drum magazines you need definately need more than one of. Some go for $5k easily.
