he just bought a new TV, HD receiver, and dvd player for his room. hes so lazy and cheap ahhaha. but ill never take away the fact that he knows more about A/V then anyone i know. and im serious about that. when he was 15-16 yrs old he was designing and building his own circuits, and putting TVs, amps, crossovers, and speakers together. he was sorta a child prodigy i guess haha

For a guy so into audio, he needs to get away from sony! Tell him to look into some vintage Marantz (he looks like he likes oldskool stuff), he'd get a kick out of that.

yea, I don't consider someone to be really into a/v if he likes sony. They make okay stuff, but it's not nearly the best -- especially considering the high prices.

I don't know that'd I'd even call their stuff "okay", from an audiophile standpoint...

I havent had any bad experiences with Sony home equipment, other than a CD player that broke after 5-6 years. Their car stuff on the other hand....

I remember when my father made a purchase:
He got too many DUI's and couldn't drive so instead of buying a BMW:

He bought Natalius B & M speakers with about 400 Watts per channel. Over all he found that his 45 thousand dollars were well spent. Try watching LOTR on that!!!

lol, don't overreact. I think what most people are saying is that you can do better than Sony for the same price, and of course do much better for more money. And of course your receiver will sound great until you hear something better. ;)
