Been assisting at this studio for a few months now, gonna start shooting now. I have about 18GB in CF cards but on those 2-3 jobs per weekend I'm gonna need a lot more than that. Was wondering where I could pick up another 20-30 for cheap, where you guys buy yours, or if you know any deals.

I used pricegrabber and entered the description and it found the best deal for me. I just picked up a generic 150X 16GB Extreme III SDHC for $50. Worked like a charm.

I usually just buy when Sandisk has the rebate deals. You usually can get 3x 4gb, 8gb, or 16gb for really cheap after the rebates (usually a visa gift card that comes 6 weeks later).

Obviously that doesn't help you short term, but you're gonna be kicking yourself if you pay retail now and the rebates show up soon.

Thanks guys. I think I'm actually gonna end up going with these though:

3 4GB Sandisk ExtremeIII for 45 (after rebate) looks like the best deal for me...not for the writing speeds but more for transfer rates when I get home. I'm gonna go in tomorrow: paying 200 bucks for memory cards FTL (I'm getting 24GB)

Shopping around to buy cheap CF is like shopping for the cheapest parachute when going skydiving. :hsugh:

18GB is a lot. 12GB is a lot. you're gonna be changing memory cards like a mad man if you actually think you'll use all of that

I'd rather have one 32GB and never change memory cards :dunno:

One 4GB card becoming corrupt > my entire job on one card going corrupt

It's a safety thing for me

Nah, not much but it's more about transferring from the card to the computer that I care about.
