    have already shot one. cousin has one. just feel it would be a nice addition to the collection, and a nice thing to throw in a pocket. would hardly ever shoot it unless need-be

    I have a Model 640 that I carry. I isn't bad shooting .357 out of it. I think it is only a few oz heavier.

    My friend has he M&P model with the tritium front site. .357 loads are tons of fun.

    A few ounces? The 640 is twice as heavy as the 340PD.

    You're right. 23oz vs 12oz. I personally didn't feel that much weight difference when carrying or shooting. My wife has the 637 (15oz) and it feels the same. It's 3/4 lbs. :/

    The 340 is less than 1/2 shorter IIRC. No a big deal. I saved $450 by going with the 640. The added weight of the 640 should help some pansies shoot .357 without the pain.

    I have the 340sc (same gun except color), found used for $600. Don't know if you have any local online classifieds that you can buy guns through, but I found mine on http://backpage.com
