any recommendations on whats good?
yeah, that's the cheapest i know of too. i haven't had any failures in my p99.
Just get Ranger T's they're only $20 for a box of 50 and they're some of the best rated ones out there..them and Gold Dots which are about twice the price.
What wwb is made there? I thought all winchester ammo was made in their main facility in alton IL or their other plant in connecticut or mississipi or where ever.
www.mahsupplies.net has ranger t for a good price.
You can get Speer GD's for similar prices from Mirage Technologies/ Florida Bullet. Just shoot whatever is 100% reliable in YOUR gun.
Where are you guys getting the Ranger T's for 20 per 50? The gun store in IL wanted 20 for 20 I got a box of 50 here in TN for 30.
Did you click my link above your post?
Link? Whats a leaky primer?
No, I just now noticed it
They are out of stock for 9mm Luger
wtf, the ones I saw were out of stock. I swear I'm not going crazy.
They weren't bulk packaged were they?
Anything wrong with bulk packaged gold dots? I know they're listed as practice ammo but if it goes bang, shouldn't it work just as well?
bought some ammo from MAH Supplies...seems reasonable.
That's the problem. The bulk packaged GD's are "reclassified" which means recalled for an abnormally high failure rate. Which is still pretty low, but I don't want to trust my life to the loudest click you'll ever hear.
I carry Federal HST. I ordered from http://www.streichers.com/ in 50 round boxes, I think MAH carries it now as well.
So apparently I misread the thread. I thought you were looking for the cheapest hollow points. I misread the 'what's good part'. I only use the wwb for fucking around. Speer Gold Dots are what I keep loaded in the gun.
how exactly does one check? a made in sticker on the box or batch numbering? serial numbers?
I've never really looked at the boxes too closely, I'd probably drive the guy at walmart nuts asking to look at the back of the boxes and the not buying them. Too bad none of my buddies still work at sports authority.
Damn this pesky keeping the ammo behind the counter or behind glass.
And it was marketed as practice ammo? That's odd. If you want to be sure, you can call Speer with your lot # off the box and they'll tell you if you have anything to worry about. Usually Speer won't sell in boxes unless it's the good stuff.
